C.S.H. Burger with Pepper Jack & Avocado

Charcoal-Grilled, Sweet-Heat Burgers with a Kick

Smoky chipotle, soy umami, and a kiss of honey sweetness—C.S.H. brings all the flavor you need straight into the patty. We blend it right into the ground beef with an egg yolk to keep things rich and juicy. Finished with melty pepper jack, creamy avocado slices, and (if you dare) fresh jalapeños for extra heat, this is a burger that doesn’t back down.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20)

  • 1½ tbsp Ranch & Rifle C.S.H. seasoning

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 4–6 slices pepper jack cheese

  • 1–2 avocados, sliced

  • Optional: fresh jalapeño slices

  • 4–6 burger buns, toasted

  • Optional toppings: mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickled onions

Instructions

1. Mix the Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, C.S.H. seasoning, and egg yolk. Mix gently until just combined—don’t overwork it or the burgers will get tough. Form into 4–6 equal patties, pressing a slight dimple into the center of each.

2. Prep the Grill
Light your charcoal grill and set it up for direct heat, aiming for medium-high (375–400°F). Let it fully preheat while your patties rest.

3. Grill the Burgers
Place the patties over the hot coals. Grill for about 4–5 minutes per side, flipping once, until your desired doneness is reached.

4. Add Cheese
In the last minute of cooking, top each burger with pepper jack cheese. Close the grill lid briefly to melt the cheese completely.

5. Toast the Buns
While the burgers finish, toast your buns cut-side down on the grill until golden and slightly crisp, about 30–60 seconds.

6. Build Your Burger
Place each patty on the bottom bun, then top with fresh avocado slices. Add jalapeño slices if you like it hot, and layer with your favorite toppings. We kept it simple with just avocado and jalapeños—the patty carries most of the flavor.

Why It Works

Mixing C.S.H. into the meat builds flavor from the inside out, not just on the surface. The chipotle heat and honey sweetness pair perfectly with the pepper jack and cool avocado, while the optional jalapeños keep it interesting for anyone who likes a little more kick.
